What is Polyacrylamide (PAM)?

Polyacrylamide (PAM), also known as poly(2-propenamide), with CAS No. 9003-05-8, is a linear water-soluble polymer with a molecular weight ranging from 8 to 20 million Daltons. Produced via free radical polymerization of acrylamide monomers, the process is optimized for precise molecular weight and charge density control, yielding cationic, anionic and non-ionic variants.

PAM boasts superior flocculation efficiency, high solubility, and excellent adsorption capacity for suspended particles. Its core advantages include low acrylamide residue (≤0.01%) and stable performance across a wide pH range (5–10).
